Arretta Jane Carpenter Tipton, 86, died February 27, 2007. Mrs. Tipton is the former wife of Richmond businessman and veteran World War II pilot, Noah Ray Tipton. A native Tennessean, she was a resident of Richmond since 1946, resident at Ruxton at the Meadows for the past three years with their caring staff. Jane was a loving mother and devoted friend to all. Her quick wit and humor will be remembered in our laughter. Surviving members of her family include daughters, Linda Tipton Alt of Goochland, M. Emily Tipton of Hanover; granddaughters, Tonya Northcutt Chenoweth and Amanda Jane Tipton; and four great-grandchildren, Harli, Mason, Haden, and Lindy Rose. A gathering of family and friends will be held March 11, 2007, 2 p.m., at the residence of Tonya and Jimmy Chenoweth, 2750 Leatherwood Rd., Maidens, Va.
