Macie Moore Rice, age 87, of Cumberland, Va., went to be with the Lord on December 21, 2006. She was the widow of Vanderbilt Rice. She leaves to cherish her memory two brothers, Ralph Moore of Cartersville, Va., Pete Moore of Fayetteville, N.C.; four sons, Spencer and wife, Sandra of Cumberland, Va., Paul and wife, Lynn, Charlie and wife, Janet of Cartersville, Va. and Michael Wayne of Cumberland, Va.; five daughters, Violet Lowry, Louise West and husband, Eddie, Ernestine Thurston and husband, Charles, all of Columbia, Va., Shirley Stinnett and husband, Ted of Cartersville, Va., and Frances Ingle ad and husband, Eddie of Farmville, Va.; 26 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, three step grandchildren and their families of Jonesboro, Tenn., numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to the two wonderful caregivers, Eddie and Frances Ingle and Sandra Rice for their services and to her nurses from West Home Health. The family received friends Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the Shorter Funeral Home of Farmville. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at the Cartersville Cemetery. Following the service, the family received friends at the Cartersville Rescue Squad Building.
