PARKER

Charles Marion Parker, 74, of Forest, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007. He was the husband of Martha Bell Hewins Parker for 52 years. Mr. Parker was born July 31, 1932, in Goochland County, a son of the late Marion John Edward Parker and Corrine Evelyn Ford Parker. He was President of Master Engineers & Designers Inc., and was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and of the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers, which recently honored him for over 50 years of service to the community through his profession. He was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John Spencer Parker and wife, Janice of Richmond and Edward Ford Parker and wife, Diana of Forest; two grandchildren, Breana and Eric Parker of Forest; a brother, James Ford Parker and wife, Rachel of Crozier; and two aunts, Mabel Ford Perrin and Anne Ford Forrest, both of Richmond. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, with the Rev. Mark Beck and the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 20597 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, Va. 24502.
