Rev. Ernest L. Kitt Sr., 76, of Goochland, Va., departed this life Tuesday, April 3, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Henry Kitt Sr. and Minnie Bonner. He pastored the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Dillwyn, Va. for 27 years. He leaves to cherish his life, a devoted wife of 54 years, Flora A. Cook Kitt; 10 children, Sarah Thompson (Archie) of Richmond, Va., Ernest L. Kitt Jr. (Rochelle) of St. Paul, Minn., Shelia Kenny of Richmond, Va., Howard Kitt (Rolette) of Aberdeen, Md., Lorenzo Kitt Sr. (Linda) of Bedford, Va., Christopher Kitt Sr. of Chesterfield, Va., Ronnie Kitt Sr. (Tracy) of Goochland, Va., Terry Kitt Sr. (Gail) of Goochland, Va., Gregory Kitt Sr. (Mary) of Aberdeen, Md. and Stephanie Braxton of Goochland, Va.; one brother, James Henry Kitt Jr.; four sisters, Louise Mayfield, Minnie Kitt, Kim Winston and Carolyn Robinson; 31 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Mary Cook, four brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, and a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Robert Mealy Funeral Home in Goochland, Va., where family will receive friends on Thursday April 5, (tonight) from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Dillwyn, Va. on Friday, April 6, 2007 at 12 noon. Rev. Joe Chambers officiating. Interment will be at the Kitt Family Cemetery in Goochland, Va.
