Mrs. Sallie Virginia Gilliam, 69, of Cartersville, Va., departed this life on Sunday, April 1, 2007 in Goochland, Va. She is survived by five sons, Perry W., John H., Willie (Diane), Phillip and James Gilliam; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Willie Jones Jr. (Catherine); two sisters, Ida Jones and Estelle Crump (Robert); five sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her remains rest at Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home, Cumberland, where the family will receive friends Friday night from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, Cartersville, Va. Rev. Leroy McLaughlin, pastor, and Rev. John West presiding, with interment in the church cemetery.
