Lawrence
Curtis Lawrence, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009. He was the son of the late William Lawrence and Rosea Henderson Lawrence. He was preceded in death by a loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Mildred G. Lawrence; one sister, Mary Winston; and five brothers, Alexander Lawrence, William “Honey” Lawrence, Jerry Dabney, Newton Dabney and Henry Dabney. Mr. Lawrence was born in Ashland, Va. He resided in Richmond for over 40 years and then later returned to Ashland. Mr. Lawrence received his education in the Hanover County School System. As a young boy, Mr. Lawrence was baptized at the Providence Baptist Church in Ashland. Mr. Lawrence served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He retired from Morgan Bag Company after 41 years of service. Left to cherish his memory is one devoted nephew, Kevin Winston; a devoted and loving niece whom he loved as his own daughter, LeNette G. Davis; four other nieces, Ernestine Jones, Eugena Johnson, Elaine Wright and Lorraine Trueheart; one other nephew, Sye Dabney; five sisters-in-law, Nannie G. Owens, Lucy G. Graves, Bessie Gabbin, Juanita Gabbin and Margaret Lawrence; one brother-in-law, Ellis Graves; seven special friends, Elizabeth “Whitey” Chandler, Chuckie Miller, Deacon Lloyd Jones, Ernestine Jones, Mildred Dabney, Alsine Johnson and Herbert Lightfoot; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family received friends at the F.E. Dabney Funeral Home, 600 B Street, Ashland. Homegoing services were held Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 at Emmaus Baptist Church, 2104 Sandy Hook Road, Goochland, Va. Robert N Neulen. On Aug.22, 2009, Robert N. Neulen stepped into eternity with the Lord. Those of us who know the Lord look forward to seeing him again. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Jean Neulen; his four children and their spouses, Debbie Miller (Lance), Janice Davis (Brett), John Neulen (Melissa) and Sonya Thompson (Tim); his much beloved grandchildren, John Mason (Kimberly), Sam Mason, Pamela Spangler, Roman Miller, Sommer Elmore, Brooks Davis (Jil), Logan Davis, Christina Neulen (Joseph O’Melia), Joshua Neulen, Rebekah Neulen, Brittany, Stephanie, Valerie, Daniel, Ashley and Tiffany Thompson; his four great-grandchildren, Alden, Issac, Bailey and Conley. Bob was employed by IBM for 27 years as a Senior Industry Specialist, CBN as Director of IT, Wheat First Butcher Singer as Senior VP, Best Products as R&D Specialist, SunTrust as Relationship Manager and Shaklee as coordinator. He was also a board member of the Goochland Rotary, Goochland Chamber of Commerce and BNI. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, exuberance for life, love of family and the Lord. Viewing was held at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad Street, where the family received friends Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009. A celebration of his life was held at West End Assembly of God, 401 N. Parham Road, Richmond, on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009. Graveside services followed in Westhampton Memorial Park Mausoleum.
