Dianne Nunnally Hoppes, 62, of Manakin-Sabot, peacefully passed away on Friday, July 18, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her beloved husband, D. Franklin Hoppes II; her daughters, Janet C. Deskevich and her husband, Duane, and their children, Emily and Caroline; Catherine L. Collins and Alice C. Fruth and her husband, Alex; and Frank’s children, Heather H. Proffitt and her husband, Brandon, and Daniel F. Hoppes III. Dianne was the daughter of the late Janet and Moses D. Nunnally Jr. The family expresses their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the nurses and staff of Bon Secours Hospice, especially Norma and Beverly. Dianne touched so many with her positive, uplifting spirit and was the bright spot in so many lives. To honor her and celebrate her life, the family requests that those attending the memorial service wear bright, cheerful colors. The family received friends Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. A memorial service was held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at St. James’s Episcopal Church, 1205 W. Franklin St. Graveside services were private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Massey Cancer Center, The New Community School, Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, Mass., and Shaver’s Fork Volunteer Fire Department in Snowshoe, W.Va.
