Mealey

Beatrice Carolyn Mealey, “Aunt Bea”, 89, of Goochland, departed this life June 21, 2010. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lelia T. Burrell. Left to cherish memories are two brothers, Lorenzo Burrell Sr. and James Burrell Sr.; a host of nieces and nephews, among them, devoted, Maria A. Hicks; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Viewing was held Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Wilson & Associates’, 5008 Nine Mile Rd. Salmon

Elizabeth Payne Salmon, 94, of Richmond, was called home by the Lord June 26, 2010. Born Jan. 6, 1916 in Goochland County, she was a daughter of the late Henry B. and Eva S. Payne. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Ray Griffith and Elam T. Salmon; sisters, Alberta Lewis and Pearlene Ragland; and brothers, Arthur, Floyd and George A. Payne. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter and son-in-law, Oretta G. and William Sikes; three grandchildren, Eugene Sikes (Tracy), Sandra (Vince) Galownia and Bonnie Rae Sikes; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Sanora P. Alvis (James); a brother, Charles U. Payne (Margaret); and two sisters-in-law, Vernelle Payne (Marvin) and Lucille Payne. She was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church, Goochland and former member of Tabernacle Baptist, Richmond. Mrs. Salmon retired after 33 years from RFP Railroad, was a charter member and past president of Richmond Chapter of the National Association of Railroad Business Women, West End Business and Professional Women’s Club, Goochland Historical Society, Maymont Foundation, Cartersville Garden Club, and Old Dominion Lodge #977. The family received friends Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Bliley’s-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., where a funeral service was held Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Graveside services followed in Riverview Cemetery. The family thanks the dedicated, compassionate employees of the Laurels of Bon Air. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
