Henley
Henley, Evelyn Javins, of Manakin-Sabot, entered into eternal rest on May 24, 2008. She is survived by her husband, Louis V. Henley; daughter, Dianne White and her husband, Michael White; son, Thomas L. Henley; and three grandchildren, Jason, Jordan and Carrie Beth White. Evelyn was a deeply devoted wife, mother and grandmother with much love and concern for her entire family and many friends. She will be sorely missed. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Binna Javins; and also her sisters, Laura Carroll, Becky Blume, Libby Godsey and Florence Martin. She is survived by her brothers, Harry Javins and his wife, Margaret, Johnie and Ella Javins; her sisters, Clara Smith, Shirley Keeton, Margaret Seay, Mary Gilley and her husband, Charlie, Ethel and Roger Watkins; and numerous nieces and nephews. Remains rest at Norman Funeral Home, 2982 River Road West, Goochland, where the family received friends on Monday, May 26, 2008. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Dover Baptist Church, 635 Manakin Road, Manakin-Sabot, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dover Baptist Church.

Riley
Riley, John Henry, 79, of Goochland, Va., departed this life May 27, 2008, after a brief illness. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lucy Turner Riley; daughter, Helena Riley of Brooklyn, N.Y.; stepdaughter, Janet Turner Ezell of Goochland, Va.; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Robert Mealy Funeral Home, Goochland, Va. Funeral services were held at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 5011 St. Paul Church Road, Goochland, Va. Saturday, May 31, 2008. Pastor Bruce Claiborne officiating. Interment church cemetery.

Waldrop
Waldrop, Douglas C., 73, of Goochland,  passed away on May 29, 2008.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dale P. Waldrop; his wonderful parents, Richard “Mortie” and Beatrice “Bea” Hamby Waldrop; his brother, Carrington “Egghead” Waldrop;  and his nephew, David Waldrop.  Douglas is survived by his devoted sister, Phyllis Waldrop Sikes and her husband, Charlie; his brothers, Edward Waldrop and his wife, Nancy; Henry Waldrop and his wife,  Catherine; sister-in-law Palma Maria Waldrop; and his brother-in-law, Gregory Preddy.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and several other extended family members.  Douglas was a long-time employee of Commonwealth Gas Pipeline, later known as Columbia Gas.  A memorial service will be held at Goochland Baptist Church, Manakin-Sabot, Va.,  on Saturday, June l4, at 3:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of his life in the church fellowship hall.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to F.L.A.G., P.O. Box 115,  Manakin-Sabot, Va. 23103;  or Goochland Volunteer Fire & Rescue,  Company #3, P.O. Box 306, Goochland, Va. 23063.
