Barlow

Kenneth Wayne Barlow, 71, of Beaverdam, passed away on March 3, 2010. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Morris Barlow. He is survived by his two sons, Kenneth Jr. and Robert Keith; two daughters, Jennifer and Julie Barlow; three stepsons, Terry, Allen and Danny Morris; numerous grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; also two special friends, Joan Barber and Joyce Anne Dodson, his friend of 53 years. A private memorial will be held March 28, 2010.

Gibbs

Forest Lee Gibbs III, 67, of Manakin-Sabot, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence Elizabeth and Forest Lee Gibbs Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Patricia Culpepper Gibbs; three children, Forest Lee Gibbs IV and his wife, Martha, Christian C. Gibbs and Jennifer L. Gibbs; his brother, J. Thomas Gibbs and his wife, Brenda; his sister, Judy Gibbs Marchant and her husband, Dennis; and three grandchildren, Lucas, Nicholas and Alexus. Forest was an avid golfer, member of Hermitage Country Club, member of Joppa 40 Masonic Lodge, a talented duck carver and a best friend to countless others. The family received friends on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Goochland Baptist Church, 2454 Manakin Rd., Manakin-Sabot, Va. Arrangements by the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home. Mealy

Rosa Banks Mealy, 93, departed this life Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at her home in Sandy Hook, Goochland County. A native of Charles City County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Willie A. and Mary L. Banks; her beloved husband, Russell Mealy; sisters, Cammie Banks Cook, Delcinia Banks-Holly, Alberta Banks Henderson, Eleanor Banks Brandon; and brothers, James, Wesley and Fred Banks. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jerry W. Mealy; daughters, Lillian Russell Gresham and Dr. Rosemarie Mealy-Anderson; grandsons, Marc Mealy, Steven Gresham and McClain Mealy; great-granddaughters, Khara Gresham and Amari Rose Mealy; daughter-in-law, Carol Mealy; sons-in-law, Dr. S.E. Anderson III and Douglas M. Youngs; granddaughters-in-law, Lisa Gresham and Kathy Mealy; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family received friends at the Robert Mealy Funeral Home, Goochland, Tuesday, March 23, 2010. The celebration of life ceremony was held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Cleveland Mallory, associate minister, Shady Grove Baptist Church, Gum Spring, officiated. Graveside services were held at Fauquier Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Melvin Woodson, pastor.
