Roy Benjamin Binford passed away peacefully at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital on March 7, 2007. He was born July 4, 1933 to the late John and Mary Binford. Roy attended the public schools of Goochland and he was a graduate of Virginia Union University. He is survived by his wife, Janice; two daughters, Avis Binford of Goochland, Va. and Robin Binford Weaver of Richmond, Va.; son-in-law, John Weaver of Richmond; two brothers, Earl of Goochland and Bobby of Central Islip, N.Y.; four sisters, Ethel Binford of Goochland, Dorothy Griffin of Gloucester, Va., Erma Wingfield of Amityville, N.Y., and Judy Lovings of Richmond; three sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Remains will rest at the Robert Mealy Funeral Home, 2530 Dogtown Road, Goochland, Va. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Fauquier Baptist Church in Goochland with interment following at the church cemetery.
