Goochland County man arrested for assaulting his elderly mother

John Edward Heinrich, 34, of Manakin-Sabot was arrested by Chesterfield County Police late this afternoon, according to the Goochland County Sheriff’s Office.
After responding to a call for suspicious activity officers found Heinrich in an abandoned house in the Midlothian area of Chesterfield County, Goochland Deputy Sheriff Chad W. Hatton said in a news release.
Heinrich was wanted by the county sheriff’s office on felony charges after allegedly beating his elderly mother early Wednesday morning.
The assault took place at his mother’s home in Goochland. Heinrich’s 73-year-old mother received serious injuries about the head and was transported to VCU Medical Center by Goochland Fire and Rescue.
Heinrich is charged with assault with the intent to maim, disfigure or kill, and is being held without bond in Henrico County Jail.
He is scheduled to appear in Goochland County General District Court on Monday, September 13, at 8:45 a.m.
