Students of Goochland Cotillion, along with their parents, donated more than $600 to the Goochland Christmas Mother Program at the third annual Holly Ball held on Saturday, December 3.

“I am overwhelmed at the response of the children and parents who gave from their hearts,” said Dale Agnew, 2011 Goochland Christmas Mother.

Goochland Cotillion’s Holly Ball took place at Adams International School, located on Broad Street Road in Maidens.  Mothers and fathers regaled in the festivities, as they danced with their sons and daughters.

The event included home-school students and pre-teens from Goochland Elementary, Randolph Elementary, Goochland Middle, Salem Christian, Adams International School and Louisa Middle.

The cotillion, which began holding classes in September 2009, offers an opportunity for pre-teens to learn ballroom dancing, while emphasizing etiquette, life skills and respect for self and others.

Local residents, Margaret Reynolds and Tamra Adams direct the program, along with Lynn Irwin who also provides the dance instruction.

What a wonderful gesture. Congratulations to all cotillion members and their parents.
