Attacking Patti?  I see that Ricky is voicing what the Constitution grants us. Freedom of Speech, as is Patti.

..as a friend and co worker of Annette Thompson..I pray that all will be well for her in this time of unjustified assults on her reputation ...

....like I said before there is no doubt in mind that Annette Thompson should answer to these false accusations….personally I have lived and worked with Annette Thompson, I am so appalled to hear these terrible lies that people are saying about her…..

After reading all these comments, it seems to me that Ms. Stinson has some sort of vendetta toward Mrs. Thompson. Let me make a few corrections based on my first-hand observations.

In one post, Ms. Stinson says there are NO buildings and that all dogs are outside. While I grant her that there are outdoor pens (no different than most shelters I’ve been to), there are also buildings that she has made use of.

In another post, Ms Stinson states that dogs walk among their own filth. I know first hand that the pens are cleaned DAILY. This is the same accusation that the SPCA and other shelters have faced in the past. Dogs poop! And unlike cats (who centralize it away from their living quarters and food), dogs go wherever they please.

Another post stated that Mrs. Thompson did not properly vet her animals. Poppycock! Every animal there has vaccination records. In addition, Mrs. Thompson saves money by doing a lot of routine things herself (which she learned from licensed vets).

One other post that Ms Stinson put up mentioned Mrs. Thompson’s living arrangements (her trailer). While personally, I believe that is part of Mrs. Thompson’s personal life and is not of anyone’s concern, I will address that briefly. Yes, she may be living in a trailer right now. What was not mentioned was the fact that the trailer is right behind her house which is being completely rebuilt. And because of Mrs. Thompson’s total dedication to her animals, she has invested more in them than in herself, which is why the building is still in process.

I could go on, but I have other things to do. Ms. Stinson, you may THINK you know all about the situation, but you do not. You do not even live in the area (Reston is about 3hours away from this shelter; over 100 mi)!

It is unfortunate that someone who has devoted her life to these animals must take crap from you and others like you who do not fully understand or appreciate the situation. Instead, like many do, you have taken minor details and twisted them to make this woman look like a monster.

Ms. Stinson, I pity you.

vet records ? what is this law requiring you take your dog to a vet , only one i know of is rabies . most vaccines can be given at home . what is the mandatory all dogs must go to a vet law . hmm im sure its somewhere out there in pattis imagination .

To Animal Advocate of Midlothian - interesting point - asking how she can expand when she can’t even pay for food and doesn’t provide vet care.  I’d love for her to answer that.  Unfortunately, she won’t give the dogs up (hoarders rarely do), and she won’t even put them down humanely when they’re suffering - she just lets them die long, slow, painful deaths - and yes - we have proof and eyewitnesses. 

To those of you who know the truth about Thompson, all I can say is be patient.  There is enough evidence to charge her with more counts of abuse and cruelty.

Please contact Ms. Dixon and ask her to prosecute Thompson.  I’m sure that when Ms. Dixon sees the proof, she will agree that Thompson must be shut down.  Certainly someone in her position is on the side of what’s right and she wants to see criminals brought to justice.  Make no bones about it (excuse the pun), but Thompson is a criminal.

What’s the matter Rick?  Did I hit a nerve?  The truth does hurt, doesn’t it? 

Let me clarify my point.  Perhaps I was wrong about Animal Control being liars.  I shouldn’t have made that statement and I retract it here and now.

They might just be inept… or they might be inept AND liars. 

That should be clear enough for anyone to understand and that is the statement I am standing by.

I am not sure where you get your info but no mother dogs are ever left behind when puppies are rescued.  If there is a mother dog she is pulled also.  Get your facts straight.
