Goochland Government Salaries

Updated This list of government employees, and their annual salaries, was current as of March 15, 2011. Elected constitutional officers, including the sheriff, commonwealth's attorney, clerk of circuit court, treasurer and commissioner of the revenue, are also included in our salary database, although they receive the majority of their funding from the state compensation board. Supplemental income, such as car allowances, is noted separately from annual pay.

Employees earning less than $10,000 are not included, with the exception of Goochland County School Board members. GCPS does not currently allow overtime pay. Supplemental income is included in the annual salary and is also noted separately.

Crime
FBI Uniform Crime Reports

For the second year in row, the number of violent crimes declined across the country -- a total of 2.5 percent during 2008 compared to the previous year -- according to the FBI's Preliminary Annual Uniform Crime Report. The FBI annually releases statistics on violent crimes like murder, rape and robbery and on property crimes such as burglary and vehicle theft. Not all agencies participate in the voluntary UCR program and therefore are not reflected in the data.

FBI Hate Crime Reports

Hate crime has been much in the news lately, with an expansive new law put on the books in October 2009. Included in this release are the FBI's latest annual statistics on the extent of bias-fueled crime across the country. Overall, the 2008 numbers are up slightly -- 7,783 incidents and 9,691 victims (including individuals, businesses, and institutions) were reported to the FBI by its law enforcement partners across the country.

Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry

The registry, including the Public Notification Database, is based on the Virginia General Assembly's decision to facilitate access to publicly-available information about persons convicted of specified violent and sexual offenses.The main purpose of providing this data on the internet is to make the information more easily available and accessible, not to warn citizens about any specific individual.

Virginia restaurant and school cafeteria health inspections

The Virginia Department of Health inspects restaurants, fast food operations, delis, school cafeterias and other food service establishments. You can search the database by the name of the facility or the locality to find inspection reports and any critical health violations found.

IRS
IRS Refund Database

The Internal Revenue Service is looking for taxpayers who are due to receive a combined $123.5 million in the form of 107,831 refund checks that were returned to the IRS by the U.S. Postal Service due to mailing address errors. 2000-2008 Subcounty Population Estimates

The population of New Orleans grew 8.2 percent in 2008, faster than any other large city in the U.S., according to population estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau. As of July 1, 2008, the population of New Orleans was 311,853, up from 210,768 in 2006 following Hurricane Katrina but still below the pre-hurricane level of 484,674 based on the 2000 Census. Round Rock, Texas, a city north of Austin, was the second fastest-growing city (8.16 percent) in the nation from 2007 to 2008.
