On Jan. 26, 1953, Henry Junius Woodson Sr. (son of the late Patrick Woodson and Edmonia Kenney Woodson) and Harriett Marie Lyttle Woodson (daughter of the late David Lyttle and Maria Scott Lyttle) will celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary.  This year’s celebration was a dinner with family and friends at a local restaurant.  From this union, there are nine children:  Patricia Anthony, Jacquelin Wright (Norman), Henry Woodson, Jr. “Boone” (Madie), Deborah Woodson, David Woodson (Paulette), Dwayne Woodson (Shirley), Jewel Wright (Michael), Janet Senegar (David), and Mark Woodson; 13 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.  With such a large family, the Woodson get-togethers are usually loud, but extremely fun when everyone visits to chow down on savory home-cooked food, lots of singing (and attempts to harmonize), family board games—Pictionary is our favorite—and look at family photos.  Many years have gone by, but everyone is grateful for our family and all of the memories in Goochland:  Daddy pulling out military photos of his time served in Korea, JCPenney holiday parties, working at Beaumont, listening to the 8-track and playing 45’s on the turntable, going to Grandpa and Grandma Woodson’s, 2nd Sundays in August at Emmaus, tomato sandwiches, Grannie Lucy, having Holly Farms trucks honk their horns at us, the Gospel Travelers, Mr. Bubba Harris driving the Sunday School bus, walks to Mabel Mealy’s store, and watching our favorite TV shows:  Lucille Ball, Soul Train, Petticoat Junction, Lawrence Welk, Gunsmoke, Let’s Make A Deal, Flip Wilson, Beverly Hillbillies, American Bandstand, Ed Sullivan, Red Skelton, Bonanza, and Sanford & Son.  Happy Anniversary!
