 Christine Marsh and Jimmy Garten, Jr. Marsh-Garten Mr. David Allen Cross of Providence Forge, Va., and Ms. Catherine Combs Marsh of Glen Allen, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Ms. Christine Darden Marsh of Richmond, Va., to Jimmy D. Garten Jr. of Varina, Va., son of Mr. Jimmy D. Garten Sr., also of Varina, and Ms. Denise I. Williams of Highland Springs, Va. Ms. Marsh is the grand-daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter R. and Darden Marsh, and Mr. William Roger Cross and the late Mrs. Louise Elizabeth Cross, all of Goochland, Va. The bride-to-be splits her time between taking care of her beautiful daughter, Darden, and helping run a successful local business that she also co-owns. Mr. Garten is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George E. and Ingrid L. Andrews of Highland Springs, and Mrs. Billie R. Garten and the late Mr. Charles R. Garten Sr. of Varina, Va. The groom-to-be works in the HVAC field while pursuing an Engineering degree. He is thoroughly involved in Darden’s life. An outdoor Renaissance-themed wedding is planned for September. The wedding and reception will be a benefit for Susan G. Komen for the cure, Richmond Affiliate. The couple would like to thank the Virginia Scots Guards and all of those who are helping to make their day so special.
