On Oct. 11, 2008, Tamara Lynn Smith of Lynchburg and Daniel Spencer Keeton of Lynchburg were joined in marriage at the Pate Chapel in Lynchburg.
Tamara is the daughter of the late Timothy Ray Smith and Patricia Norris of Marion, Va. She is the granddaughter of Betty Widener of Marion and Ralph and Ruth Smith of Old Town, FL.
Daniel is the son of Freddy and Suzanne Keeton of Louisa. He is the grandson of Willis Cobb, the late Helen Cobb of Richmond, the late Harold Keeton and the late Ella Mae Keeton of Goochland.
Megan Norris, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Abigal McKinley, Mindy Thorp, Melissa Hudson, Rose Joyner and Heather Swann, all friends of the bride. She was given in marriage by her brother Tim Smith, and Jaclyn Trout served as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Darby Madeline Cobb, seven year old cousin of the groom, was the flower girl.
Freddy Keeton served as his son’s best man. The groomsmen were Nick and Josh Keeton, brothers of the groom, and Dick Redding, Christopher Brooks and David Diamond, all friends of the groom. Alexander Joshua Keeton, four year old nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.
All those who attended, witnessed a very special and spiritual bonding of this couple, as they made their pledges to each other before God. The music was especially moving with a duet sung by a brother and sister team, Joseph and Liz McKinley, titled “Come What May”. “Jesus Paid It All” was sung by Dick Redding, as a reminder for us all. Kingsley Charles accompanied Dick on the piano, and a flute solo was played by Beth Graham.
The Aviary at Miller Park in Lynchburg served as a most unique and quaint place for the reception.
Tamara is an RN at Guggenheimer Health and Rehab in Lynchburg. Daniel is currently employed at Transdigital in Charlottesville, and is also pursuing a musical career.
Following a honeymoon in Orlando, FL. the couple resides in Lynchburg.
